Bollinger Hills Community Emergency Response Team
San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District, The City of San Ramon, The Town of Danville, and The San Ramon Unified School District along with Red Cross have joined forces to get you prepared. Together they offer Community Emergency Response Team Training (CERT) and Personal Emergency Preparedness training (PEP) training. They are dedicated to preparing the San Ramon Valley in case of Emergency.
CERT is a positive and realistic approach to emergency and disaster situations where citizens may initially be on their own and their actions can make a difference. While people will respond to others in need without the training, one goal of the CERT program is to help them do so effectively and efficiently without placing themselves in unnecessary danger.
Bollinger Hills CERT ActivitiesThe Bollinger hills community has a large and active CERT. CERT graduates who are interested in participating in the Bollinger Hills CERT may contact team leader Jack Robertson at |

We are currently in the
process of creating a fully stocked cache of supplies to use in case of a
disaster. If you have old tools, tables, folding chairs, tarps, first aid
kits, scrap 2x4 or 4x4 pieces of wood or other supplies that you would like
to donate, please email

The CERT Program
The CERT Program educates people about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. Using the training learned in the classroom and during exercises, CERT members can assist others in their neighborhood or workplace following an event when professional responders are not immediately available to help. CERT members are also encouraged to support emergency response agencies by taking an active role in emergency preparedness projects in their community.
The CERT classes are either one night a week for eight weeks (generally on Tuesday or Thursday nights from 6:00p.m.-9:30p.m) or over two weekends (generally a Friday night, all-day Saturday, and all-day the next Saturday). Each class offers students the opportunity to actively participate with hands-on exercises, culminating with a drill on the last day that incorporates what students have learned. The classes take place at the San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District Administration Office, at 1500 Bollinger Canyon Road, San Ramon. The first CERT class was completed on March 23, 2006 with many residents from Bollinger Hills in the class and there have been 93 classes completed since then (as of May 2023).
